Displaced Backbeats with 1/16th Note Bass Drum

Now that you have gained confidence with displaced backbeats and 1/8th note bass drum rhythms, it’s time to increase the challenge by learning some displaced backbeats with 1/16th note bass drum rhythms.

Each exercise contains a constant hi-hat pattern, 1/16th note bass drum rhythm, and displaced backbeats.

Tips

_ Make sure that the unisons between the snare and the hi-hat are together

_ Do not rush or slow down when playing the displaced backbeat

_ Pay attention to where the displaced backbeat is and the rhythms that surround it

_ Ensure the bass drum pattern does not affect the displaced backbeat placement

Learn each exercise with a metronome and, as your confidence increases, slowly begin to increase the tempo.
